: Exar Corporation (Nasdaq: EXAR) today announced that it has closed the previously announced merger of a wholly owned subsidiary of Exar with Sipex Corporation, effective August 25, 2007.As of August 25, 2007, Sipex Corp. was acquired by Exar Corp. Sipex Corporation engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of analog integrated circuits (ICs). It offers power management products, including white LED drivers, DC/DC regulators, and controllers to regulate, control, monitor, or provide the reference voltage for a system or portion of a system. The company also provides interface products that facilitate the transfer of digital signals between or within electronic systems, as well as ensure connectivity between networks, computers, and digital peripherals and consumer portable devices that connect to them.
