Austriamicrosystems (ams) acquired Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions in 2011; Consolidating with Austria Micro Systems, the two companies have formed as Ams. Ams is a designer and manufacturer of high performance analog ICs (integrated circuits) for the consumer, communications, industrial, medical and automotive markets.The types of products manufactured by Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions: Light-to-Voltage Sensors, Light-to-Frequency Sensors, Linear Sensor Arrays, Light to Digital Sensors, Color Sensors, and Color Reflective Sensors.
Historically, applications that require the sensing of light stimulus to execute a function have been implemented by either a photodiode or phototransistor � neither of which support the emerging needs for higher performance optical sensor-based applications.
