: Based in Huntington, Indiana, UTEC manufactures microprocessor-based controls for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration manufacturers worldwide. UTEC also manufactures standard and programmable thermostats and zoning systems. Additionally, UTEC manufactures specialty electronic controls and displays for the foodservice industry and RV, Pool and Spa Industries.UTEC has been an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Programs) Star facility in the state of Indiana since 2001. The Huntington operation, the world's first LEED Registered Gold Existing Building certified electronics manufacturing facility, has logged zero lost workday incidents since 2006, and has also reduced volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and total air emissions by 87 percent over the same period. UTEC has also received the UTC Presidents Award for outstanding dedication to EHS Awareness.
