Renata SA, with its head office in Itingen near Basel, Switzerland, is a worldwide leading producer of button cells for electronic applications. The business - founded in 1952 with the goal to produce mechanical parts for wristwatches - specialised in button-battery cells in the late 1970s and after this concentrated on the wrist-watch industry. Today, in the modern production plant at Itingen, all services (research and development, production, quality assurance and marketing) are grouped. The production plant at Itingen is highly automated and produces over one million batteries a day. This includes silver oxide batteries for wrist watches, zinc air batteries for hearing aids, but also lithium 3V button cells for user-, industry- and industrial-electronics, for telecommunication, for medical use and PCs. In the same way a complete assortment of holders for lithium-batteries are produced. RENATA SA is a subsidiary of the Swatch Group Ltd. in Biel, Switzerland.
Renata's comprehensive line of battery holders for lithium coin cells are available as horizontal or vertical versions with through-hole or SMT-design. As a leading producer and supplier of miniature batteries, Renata has created a holder program for highest quality requirements, such as low contact resistance, safe retention of the coin cells, and state-of-the-art solderability. Renata AG SA (Renata Batteries), based in Itingen, Switzerland, is a developer and manufacturer of batteries (particularly coin or button cells). Renata is a subsidiary of The Swatch Group.
