The Sorensen brand was originally owned by Elgar Electronics Corporation (EEC). Xantrex, Inc. bought EEC and Sorensen in 2006. Then the Xantrex programmable power business division was purchased by AMETEK, Inc. in 2008. Existing Xantrex products were rebranded to all be under the Sorensen brand name. The brand consists of various products with exceptional capabilities. ATEC carries a variety of these different Sorensen power supply rental devices. Sorensen Power Supplies

Sorensen's product line includes DC Sorensen programmable power supplies, DC linear power supplies, DC benchtop power supplies, and DC modular power supplies ranging from 30W to 150kW. The voltage range is 5V to 1,000V and the current range is 1A to 8,000A. The manufacture also makes switching power supplies, which are often used for laboratory testing that requires variable DC sources, decent ripple characteristics, and great regulation attributes. With a wide range of devices and product lines, Sorensen offers consumers accurate and user-friendly equipment.

Sorensen SGI Series Programmable Power Supplies

The Sorensen SG Series DC Power Supply can be broken down into two main types: SGI and SGA. The SG series in general is known for exceptional load transient response, low noise, and high-power density.

The SGI (Sorensen General purpose Intelligent) uses onboard controls and power electronics. These controls help field personnel preform repetitive tests efficiently. This model enables sophisticative sequencing. There is constant power modes and save/recall instrument settings. The display is easy to see and has context sensitive �soft� keys. The device also offers up to eight languages.

Sorensen SGA Series Programmable Power Supplies

The SGA (Sorensen General Purpose Analog) is the other option within the SG Series. The model is perfect for technicians who prefer straightforward front panel analog controls and external controls. The SGA model type has high performance power electronics and makes tests involving voltage and current simple.
