DOW CORNING ADHESIVE SEALANTS – CHEMICAL COMPONENTS
Dow Corning is a multinational corporation headquartered in Midland, Michigan, USA.Dow Corning specializes in silicon and silicone-based technology, offering more than 7,000 products and services. Dow Corning is equally owned by The Dow Chemical Company and Corning, Inc.
Dow Corning is now owned by DowDuPont and specializes in silicone and silicon-based technology, and is the largest silicone product producer in the world.
Dow Corning Corp. transited its silicone materials for high performance building products to the new Dowsil brand in February.
Product descriptors that are part of the current product names will remain the same, according to a company release. For example, Dow Corning 983 Structural Glazing Sealant will become Dowsil 983 Structural Glazing Sealant.
Dow Corning has been a major player in the silicone sealants industry for more than seventy years and has developed many silicone technologies for industrial bonding that are still in use today. The company, previously a partner of Dow Chemical Company, has now been restructured so that Dow owns 100 percent of the silicone sealants business. The products it produces are also being rebranded to mark this change. The silicone sealants we know as Dow Corning Silicone Sealants will now be marketed under the new name DowSil silicones by Dow
