ROHM

ROHM ROHM Co., Ltd. is a Japanese semiconductor and electronic component manufacturer known for its extensive range of electronic components and integrated circuits. ROHM offers a variety of passive electronic components in addition to its semiconductor products. These passive components are essential in electronic circuit design and are used in a wide range of applications. ROHM Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, and has a global presence. The company was founded in 1958 and has since become a leading manufacturer of electronic components and semiconductor devices.

ROHM passive division specializes in a wide range of passive electronic components, such as capacitors, resistors, and inductors. Rohm's design and manufacture teams provide high quality products to customers through its global design centers and sales networks. ROHM was established as a manufacturer of small electronic components. In 1967 production was expanded to include transistors and diodes, and in 1969 ICs and other semiconductor products were added to the lineup. Two years later the company entered the US market by establishing a sales office and IC design center in Silicon Valley.

ROHM Passive Components

ROHM offers a comprehensive lineup of passive electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, inductors, and timing devices.

  • ROHM resistorsResistors: ROHM, the pioneer of chip resistors, offers a wide array of chip resistors that brings added value - in terms of greater reliability, increased miniaturization and improved performance - to sets of all types. We are focused on effective use of natural resources, and provide narrow pitch taping and bulk products that reduce waste and resources considerably. ROHM produces a variety of resistors, including surface-mount resistors, leaded resistors, and specialized resistors for specific applications. Their resistors are used to control current flow and voltage levels in electronic circuits.

  • rohm capacitorsCapacitors: ROHM's capacitors are compact, high-quality, high-performance products that utilize the microfabrication technology used in silicon semiconductor devices. ROHM manufactures capacitors with different characteristics, including aluminum electrolytic capacitors, tantalum capacitors, and ceramic capacitors. ROHM offers a broad spectrum of capacitor types, including multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), tantalum capacitors, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, film capacitors, and more. These capacitors are used for energy storage, signal filtering, timing, and various other applications in electronic circuits.
2022: ROHM reached a final agreement on the transfer of assets related to the tantalum capacitor business to KYOCERA AVX Components Corporation. ROHM transfered the tantalum capacitor business to KYOCERA AVX, a major player in the industry, based on the judgment that the transfer of the business assets will enable them to concentrate resources on their focus areas and at the same time fulfill their responsibility to supply customers.

  • Inductors: ROHM's inductors are designed to store energy in magnetic fields and are used in applications like filtering, energy storage, and signal processing.

  • Timing Devices: ROHM produces quartz crystal oscillators and ceramic resonators used in timing and clock generation applications.
