The company was founded in 1985 in Beaverton, Oregon before moving to neighboring Hillsboro, Oregon. In February 2014, Greensboro, North Carolina-based RF Micro Devices and TriQuint announced a merger in which the new company would be Qorvo, Inc., with the merger completed on January 1, 2015.

It design, develop and manufacture high-performance power amplifier, switch and filter modules in-house and provide them to the market. It offer a array of filtering, switching and amplification products for RF, microwave and millimeter-wave applications.The Company operates mainly in three divisions: mobile devices, networks infrastructure and defense & aerospace. TriQuint developed technology portfolio to support product innovation in RF applications. These technologies include a variety of semiconductor processes in GaAs and GaN for power and switching applications and SAW and BAW structures for filter applications.

In 2014, TriQuint Semiconductor merged with RF Micro Devices (RFMD) to form a new entity called Qorvo, Inc. After the merger, TriQuint's technologies and product lines became part of Qorvo, Inc. The company continued to provide advanced RF solutions across various markets, including mobile devices, infrastructure, defense, and aerospace.
