Switches: Copal provides a wide variety of switches, including small sliding and rotating DIP switches for setting, as well as operational switches such as illuminated and push button, detect, toggle, lever / rocker, slide and rotary, and so on. Pressure Sensors / Pressure Switches: Copal's pressure sensors are notable for their fully integrated in-house production, spanning from semiconductor sensor components to the end products. Potentiometers: Two fundamental approaches exist: contact and contact-less methods. The contact approach branches into conductive plastic resistor and cermet resistor potentiometers, determined by the resistor element employed. These models encompass single turn, multiturn, and linear types. Copal's wirewound potentiometers leverage precision wire winding techniques, ensuring minimal noise and extended longevity. Employing smooth-coated resistors, conductive plastic, and cermet potentiometers offer virtually limitless resolution and durability. In contrast, contactless potentiometers boast significantly prolonged lifespans compared to the contact method.
Rotary Encoders: Within the Rotary Encoder collection, both optical and magnetic encoder options are featured. As part of Copal's strategy to provide the market with one of the largest portfolios of industrial switch products from one supplier, Copal Electronics completed the acquisition of the Fujisoku Corporation in late 2007. This acquisition added panel mounted toggle, rocker, lever, pushbutton, and trigger switches to an extensive range of board level switch products already manufactured by Copal. Switch product development is a focus of the combined product group in meeting market requirements for standard and customized switching solutions.
On April 1, 2023, Nidec Copal Electronics will be renamed Nidec Components Corporation.
